Bikes are shipped in factory direct containers and are 90% assembled. The following parts are removed for shipping and need to be re-attached: handlebar, front wheel, seat, pedals, and possibly more. You will also need to check and adjust all cables and components, tune and true wheels prior to riding.
You should always have a certified bike mechanic perform a safety check before your first ride and thereafter on a regular basis.
